TRAGEDY
It seems that Tragedy strikes everyone at least once in their lifetime, and leaves behind a lot of Questions. Questions like; Why did this happen to me?, Why did God allow this?, Why do Bad things happen to Good people?, and so on. These are questions that tend to make you doubt God or that he even cares, if you let them. Or you might even believe God doesn't exist and these things happen on their own. Jesus said in the statement above that we would have Tribulation in this world, but through him we can overcome it. In this article, we hope you find the answers to these Questions and more. Also, you are more than Welcome to write us requesting Prayer or just to tell us what has happened in your Life. We know how difficult it can be to go through a Tragic time and recover from it. If you are going through such a time right now, we want you to know from our hearts, that we Hope you find the Peace and Comfort you need by allowing Jesus to heal your hurt.

It is very painful to see someone suffering or in pain for any reason and especially your own family member or someone close to you. And we always wish we could do something that would help make it go away. I remember as a small child when I would scrap a knee or elbow, Mom would kiss it to make the pain stop. And even though it still hurt after she kissed the wound, It didn't seem as bad as before and I could live with that. She would gently wipe the tears away, give me a hug, and tell me it would be alright. And by the same way when we are hurting inside, just knowing someone cares about us and Loves us, will also have a powerful impact in helping us to overcome and to heal.
I don't know of any person on this earth that has not felt hurt or pain physically or emotionally. This world is full of it. Everywhere you look you can see someone hurting in one form or another. Some are just Scratches and Scrapes, but some are Life Threatening Injuries or Crushing Broken Hearts. Tragedy can also strike anyone at anytime and it does not matter who you are. And I have to tell you, most of the sickness and bad health you see today is because of what we are doing to ourselves. Here is a short example of the things that cause most of the problems we face in our lives.
Preservatives in food - Bad Eating Habits - Chemicals in Water and Food - Smoking - Over Eating - Pollution - Unclean Habits - Sexual Imorality - Alcohol Abuse - Drug Abuse - Stress- Unsafe Driving Habits.
Any one of these can cause a tragedy in your life without question and we have only ourselves to blame. This is by far, not a perfect world and it will continue to bring suffering from diseases of all kinds and from decisions we make in our daily lives, until The Lord returns to make all things new again. Even if you never get sick and nothing bad happens to you, you are going to die. Every one wants to go to heaven, but they don't want death to get there. The Bible tells us very plainly; " It is appointed unto men, once to Die, but after this Judgement. " ( Hebrews 9 : 27 ) I have seen the Mentally Retarded and Deformed people at State Schools, and have been in hospitals and seen serious Injuries from Car Wrecks, and have seen suffering from Diseases, and have been beside the beds of folks Dying, including some that were very close to me. I know families that are going through very hard times with all kinds of afflictions and trials, and they still hold on to Christ and turn to him for their strength. Like them, I believe instead of blaming God for the mistakes we make, or what the world hands to us, we should turn even more to him for His Love and Strength because he truly does Care about us. No one knows any better than Him what Suffering and Pain is all about. He has been there and felt it. And I know now that if I fall and my body struggles for life or my Heart is Breaking inside, He is by my side and with me all the way, through anything. I know what the Loss of Loved Ones is like, and the pain and suffering this world can hand out. But I can't imagine going through any of it now without Jesus by my side. The Bible tells us;
" For he has said, I will never Leave you nor Forsake you. "
( Hebrews 13 : 5 )
I think a lot of times we might not realize just how close he really is to us, or even what he is about to do in our life. A perfect example of what I mean is told in the Story of Lazarus, A good Friend of our Lord. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus was Healing the Lame and sick and giving sight to the blind. Everyone knew what Jesus could do, until he did not go to see Lazarus when he was told he was sick and Dying. They could not understand why Jesus was doing that. He had healed a lot of people and now he wouldn't help his friend? That is just like today, when we don't understand why God does things the way he does. God is Soveriegn and he can see what we can't, and he may very well use our afflictions,trials, and tribulations to help others, or further his Kingdom or Glorify his Name through the things in your life. Well, as the story goes, after Lazarus Dies and everyone is mourning, The Lord comes to where Lazarus was buried and everyone wanted to know why he didn't come sooner and heal him so he would not die. Jesus told Martha; " I am the Resurection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were Dead, Yet shall he Live. And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never Die. " ( John 11 : 25-26 ) Please read all of Chapter 11.
And after that he Showed everyone that he was more than what they thought he was. When he Raised Lazarus from the Grave, The Wonder and Awe in everyones eyes must have been tremendous. They knew then, He was the Son Of God. He still does Miracles today too, But in his Timing and his Will. And even if he does not heal us or do something we want him to, does not mean he doesn't care about us. He may be using the situation in your life for one of many reasons. One of my Prayers now includes the statement; " Use me Lord in any way, that you may be Glorified. " I believe the Greatest Blessing of all time is when the Lord uses me in some way. I am simply thrilled to be a part of his plan and be close to his presence. You see, Jesus was not late for Lazarus, He was right on time.
I know that everyone has different circumstances, and Tragedy can happen in many different forms, but the Fact remains, God Loves you and he is right there beside you every step of the way. Whatever you do , DON"T GIVE UP! He feels your hurt and knows the suffering in your Heart, and while he may or may not take it away, he Will go through it with you and help you. Jesus said; " Blessed are they that Mourn; for they shall be Comforted. " ( Matthew 5 : 4 )
The Scriptures tell us in; ( James 4 : 9 ) " Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall Lift you Up. "
A wonderful verse that has brought me peace is in; ( 2nd Corinthians 1 : 3 -4 ) It says: " Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Mercies, and the God of all Comfort. Who comforts us in all our Tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in trouble, by which we ourselves are comforted by God. "
My Dear friend, I know that sometimes the hurt we feel seems to be unbearable, But there is Hope and Peace in the Lord Jesus Christ. He said; " Come unto me, all of you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you Rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you will find rest in your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. " ( Matthew 11 : 28 - 30 )
I strongly Recommend if you have not seen the Passion of the Christ by Mel Gibson, that you see it, and if you have , see it again. I believe it is probably the most Powerful and Accurate portrayal of what Jesus went through for you and me that I have ever seen. And the pain and anguish that Mary, his mother felt, must have been overwhelming. But I have to say this. Can you even begin to Imagine the hurt that God felt, as he watched his Son being Beaten, Whipped with things that rip the flesh from his body, Spit On, Made Fun Of, and Hung on a Roman Cross to Die after Driving Nails in his Hands and Feet. He saw his Son Die that day for a world that doesn't seem to really care about what is most important. God's Love for us ! And you know, if salvation was up to me, we would all be toast, because NO -ONE on this earth is going to take my Son and Whip Him and Drive Nails in his Hands and Hang Him on a Cross. But God did.
That shows me just how Powerful and Strong God's Love is for you and me. It breaks my Heart everytime I think about what he did that day and how much he truly cares for me. No one has ever even came close to loving me that much. He Died for ME, so that I might Live. And he did that for you too! Have you accepted his Sacrifice and his Love and Forgivness? The most Tragic of all Tragedy's is when someone turns away and doesn't want God's Love. I know it breaks his Heart when someone turns away. It certainly is not what he wants, but he gave us free will so we could make the choice to Love him from our Hearts. And I don't think I would have done it any different either. You wouldn't want to force your Children to Love you, you want them to love you from their heart, and that is the way God wants us to Love him. It is up to us now, because God has done everything needed to make the path back to him possible, we just have to accept it in our hearts. The following verses show the way;
" For God so Loved the World, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting Life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be Saved. " ( John 3 : 16 - 17 )
Remember some of these things when you are seeking answers to the world we live in because it might help keep you focused on the only thing that matters, Jesus Christ.
When you are down to nothing, God is up to Something !
What seems impossible to do, is what God does Best !
Trials and Tribulations Humble, Refine, and Remind us we are Human !
When you are at your Weakest, You can see God's Strength !
In all things, be Thankful and give Him Praise !
Christ is the Conquerer of Death, and the way to Life !
His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts !
Live in this world, but always think Kingdom thoughts !
We will all Die, But through Jesus, we will be Raised !
